The engine bay of my 2014 car now contains zip ties.

Much improved from factory - it holds the part in place, weighs less, and won’t corrode!

Dirty engine bay.
White zip ties.
Unclipped ends of white zip ties.
You’re a filthy animal.

FWIW I did clip the zip ties right after taking that picture:
I washed the engine bay not too long ago. It gets like that pretty quickly here in the South Texas dust. I probably will swap to black zip ties at some point. Somehow at the moment I have white, yellow, red, and blue but no black in that size. I pretty much am a filthy animal, though.

Just giving you shit.
What was the reason behind it? New windshield? Wipers acting up?

Washer nozzles. Slightly long story: they clogged up. Crappy fluid, probably topped off as a courtesy during an oil change. When I pulled them out I managed to drop one of the hoses down below the cowl. I had to pop out the Christmas tree clips to separate the plastic cowl the steel pinch weld enough to get the hose back up through the top of the cowl.

The simple stuff almost always has to have a snag somewhere. I wonder if we are subconsciously more careless when we assume an easy victory?
